I review recent Lattice results. In particular, the confinement mechanism and string breaking, glueballs and hybrid mesons as well as light hadron spectroscopy are discussed.

Calculation of the semileptonic decay width of the Λ b baryon

We extend the approach based on the light-cone expansion and the heavy quark effective theory to the inclusive semileptonic decay of an unpolarized b-flavored hadron. It is applied to calculate the semileptonic decay width of the Λb baryon and its ratio to that of the B meson. We obtain ΓSL(Λb) = 51 ± 9 |Vcb| 2ps−1 and ΓSL(Λb)/ΓSL(B) = 1.052 ± 0.006. From the latter, the semileptonic branching ...

Lattice QCD determinations appropriate to hadron spectroscopy are reviewed with emphasis on the glueball and hybrid meson states in the quenched approximation. Hybrids are discussed for heavy and for light quarks. The effects of sea quarks (unquenching) are explored. Heavy-light systems are presented particularly excited B mesons.

Production of multiply heavy flavored baryons from quark gluon plasma in relativistic heavy ion collisions.

It is argued that in heavy ion collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) there could be a sizable production of baryons containing two or three heavy quarks from statistical coalescence. This production mechanism is peculiar of quark gluon plasma, and the predicted rates, in heavy ion collisions at LHC energies, exceed those from a purely hadronic scenario, particularly for Xi(bc) and ...

The Constituent Quark Model has provided a remarkable description of the experimentally observed hadron spectrum but still has no firm theoretical basis. Attempts to provide a QCD justification discussed at Hadron99 include QCD Sum Rules, instantons, relativistic potential models and the lattice. Phenomenological analyses to clarify outstanding problems like the nature of the scalar and pseudos...
